The 12th NAWG Workshop, Larnaca, Cyprus was held in May 2011 as a 3 day event. The first 2 days consisted of talks and presentations, with the final day being a field trip.

The field excursion took in some of the more spectacular hyperalkaline springs of Mount Olympus along with a few of the significant bentonite sampling sites of CNAP in and around the Troodos Massif. The highest site is at 1600 m in a north-facing gully.
